It's true. Not only do I have movies I watch every Christmas, but I watch Stepmom every November. You're probably thinking I'm weird, and that's OK, because so does everyone else.
Just this past Friday, I was chatting with my brother about weekend plans:
Me: "I'm gonna watch Stepmom this weekend!"
Bro: "Well, that's sad."
I guess...
I can't explain it.
The movie covers the three major holidays—Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas—but it always felt like more of a Thanksgiving movie to me. Maybe it has something to do with the weather and the foliage in the film, not to mention the awesome house that Susan Sarandon's character lives in. Watching it before the holiday of thankfulness seems appropriate, because it's a movie that makes me appreciate what I have and the people I love.
It also makes me cry. A lot.
